SONY VAIO Type S (VGN-SZ92PS)にDebian GNU/Linuxを入れる
いや、届いた直後にインストールしたんですけどね。
とりあえず、ふつーにインストールできます。以上(わら
HDDは最初から3パーティションにわけられている(最初の8Gくらいのパーティションがリカバリ、40Gくらいがc:ドライブでWindowsやらアプリやら、残りがd:ドライブでデータ用にあいてる)ので、d: ドライブ相当になってるところをつぶして入れるのが楽です(Windows使うつもりがないなら全部つぶしてもいいけど)。実際にはテストもかねて、リカバリユーティリティ使ってパーティションサイズを小さくしてみました。
- とりあえず、Windows起動してふつーにセットアップして、念のためリカバリDVD(DVD-Rが2枚必要、CD-Rだとかなりエライ数になるのでお薦めしないです)作成。他のこともしてたので、正確にはわからないですが小一時間くらいやってた気がする。
- リカバリプログラムを起動(マニュアルに書いてあります、Windowsから もしくは 起動時に F10だっけな)して、パーティションのサイズを変更して(c: を小さくしました)リカバリ。Windows自体のリカバリは10分ほどでおわったので、さっくりおわるのかと思ったらアプリケーションまわりのリカバリが異常に時間がかかる....
- で、インストーラを起動
インストーラは、etchのbeta3インストーラを使いました。グラフィカルな奴を試せという指令があったのでグラフィカルな奴。
USB HDDからのbootに対応してるので、USB flashメモリからもいけるか?と思っていろいろ試してみたが、玉砕。
mbrいじったりいろいろしてみたがだめ、まったく同じ条件で USB HDDからはbootするので、どうもUSB flashメモリからのbootはできないっぽい?
ってことで、まぁそこはとりあえず置いといて、CD焼いちゃってインストール。特に問題なく終了。
若干フォントが読みづらい(むとうさんの話によると、漢字部分にどうやら中国語フォントが使われちゃってるらしい)lけど、sargeのインストーラよりいい感じ。
インストールするだけなら、大きな問題はないっす。

sonypiはちゃんと使えてます?
VAIO TypeUに入れたとき、spicctrlでバックライトの
輝度がかえられませんでしたよ。
微妙に挙動がおかしい(/proc/acpi/sony/brightnessからとれる値がおかしい)けど、実際にここをいじる限りはちゃんと輝度かわるし spicctrlでもちゃんとうごくすよ。
っていうか、輝度調整は spicじゃなくて acpi_sonyドライバっすね。
ので、別途パッチ要。
